Kerala Cartoon Academy honored its member Davinchi Suresh

Kerala Cartoon Academy honored its member Davinchi Suresh at the annual general meeting held in Ernakulam. The chief guest, Father Justin Kaipadampadan, Managing Director of Sathyadeepam, draped him with a ceremonial shawl. Kerala Cartoon Academy Chairman Sudheer Nath presented a memento. Secretary A. Satheesh and Treasurer B. Sajeev Balakrishnan extended their greetings and witnessed the ceremony, along with prominent cartoonists from Kerala.

The Kerala Cartoon Academy honored Davinchi Suresh in recognition of his unique achievements in the field of visual arts across one hundred different media. Davinchi Suresh is an artist who has brought his own responses to numerous social issues that occurred in Kerala over the past ten years before the public through his sculptural artworks.

He gained considerable attention by creating the flood memorial sculpture at the Legislative Assembly Museum for the Cartoon Academy, through his active participation in drawing awareness cartoons for the Cartoon Wall campaign organized by the Academy during the COVID lockdown period, and by creating an awareness sculpture against substance abuse in Thrissur.

From cartoons and caricature sculptures to works created in fire, smoke, on water, underwater, in stone, clay, grass, and ice blocks, Davinchi Suresh has expressed his artistry through one hundred distinct media. This honor also serves as recognition and support for his remarkable journey and achievements in the fields of painting and sculpture. 

കേരള കാര്‍ട്ടൂണ്‍ അക്കാദമി അംഗം ഡാവിഞ്ചി സുരേഷിനെ എറണാകുളത്ത് നടന്ന വാര്‍ഷിക പൊതുയോഗത്തില്‍ ആദരിച്ചു. മഖ്യാതിഥി സത്യദീപം മാനേജിങ്ങ് ഡയറക്ടര്‍ ഫാദര്‍ ജസ്റ്റിന്‍ കൈപടമ്പാടന്‍ പൊന്നാട അണിയിച്ചു. കേരള കാര്‍ട്ടൂണ്‍ അക്കാദമി ചെയര്‍മാന്‍ സുധീര്‍നാഥ് ഉപഹാര സമര്‍പ്പണം നടത്തി. സെക്രട്ടറി എ സതീഷും, ട്രഷറര്‍ ബി സജീവ് ബാലക്യഷ്ണന്‍ എന്നിവര്‍ ആശംസകള്‍ നേര്‍ന്ന് ചടങ്ങിന് സാക്ഷികളായി കേരളത്തിലെ പ്രമുഖരായ കാര്‍ട്ടൂണിസ്റ്റുകള്‍ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. നൂറു വ്യത്യസ്ത മാധ്യമങ്ങളില്‍ ചിത്ര കലാരംഗത്ത് വേറിട്ട പ്രകടനം കാഴ്ചവെച്ച വ്യക്തി എന്നുള്ള നിലയിലാണ് ഡാവിഞ്ചി സുരേഷിനെ കേരള കാര്‍ട്ടൂണ്‍ അക്കാദമി ആദരിച്ചത്. കേരളത്തിലെ പത്തു വര്‍ഷങ്ങള്‍ക്കിടെ സംഭവിച്ച നിരവധി സാമൂഹിക വിഷയങ്ങളില്‍ തന്‍റെതായ പ്രതികരണങ്ങള്‍ ചിത്രശില്പങ്ങളിലൂടെ ജനങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് മുന്‍പിലെത്തിച്ച കലാകാരനാണ് ഡാവിഞ്ചി സുരേഷ്. നിയമസഭാ മ്യൂസിയത്തിലെ പ്രളയസ്മാരക ശില്പം കാര്‍ട്ടൂണ്‍ അക്കാദമിക്കുവേണ്ടി നിര്‍മ്മിച്ചതു വഴിയും, കോവിഡ് ലോക്ഡൗണ്‍ കാലഘട്ടത്തില്‍ കാര്‍ട്ടൂണ്‍ അക്കാദമി സംഘടിപ്പിച്ച കാര്‍ട്ടൂണ്‍ മതിലിലെ ബോധവത്ക്കരണ കാര്‍ട്ടൂണ്‍ രചനയിലെ സജീവ സാന്നിധ്യം മൂലവും, ലഹരിക്കെതിരെ തൃശൂരിലെ ബോധവല്‍ക്കരണ ശില്പം നിര്‍മ്മിച്ചതു വഴിയും ഡാവിഞ്ചി സുരേഷ് ഏറെ ശ്രദ്ധനേടുകയുണ്ടായി. കാര്‍ട്ടൂണ്‍, കാരിക്കേച്ചര്‍ ശില്പങ്ങള്‍ തുടങ്ങി, തീയിലും, പുകയിലും, വെള്ളത്തിനു മുകളിലും, വെള്ളത്തിനടിയിലും, കല്ലിലും മണ്ണിലും പുല്ലിലും ഐസുകട്ടയിലുമായി വ്യത്യസ്ഥമായ നൂറ് മാധ്യമങ്ങളില്‍ എത്തി നില്‍ക്കുന്ന ഡാവിഞ്ചി സുരേഷിന്‍റെ ചിത്രശില്പ കലാ മേഖലകളിലെ ജൈത്രയാത്രയ്ക്ക്  പിന്തുണ നല്‍കുന്നത് കൂടിയാണ് ഈ ആദരം.
