Shankarankutty Memorial and Aniyug, Shankarankutty Award Presentation. On November 29, 2007, a memorial event for cartoonist Shankarankutty was organized at the Thiruvananthapuram Press Club in association with the Shankarankutty Memorial Trust. The function, chaired by Kerala Cartoon Academy Chairman Adv. M. M. Monayi, was inaugurated by G. Sudhakaran, Minister for the Cooperation and Devaswom Department. Prof. C. R. Omanakkutty delivered the main memorial address. Prominent film actor Madhu, photographer Sivan, cartoonist Sukumar, Kerala Cartoon Academy Secretary Sudheer Nath, Prasannan Aanikkad, Atlanto CEO Ratheesh Babu, and Harishankar spoke at the event. The award for the best book cover, instituted by the Shankarankutty Memorial Trust and the Academy, was presented during the ceremony. B. M. Gafour Memorial and Award Presentation. The founder secretary of the Kerala Cartoon Academy, B. M. Gafour, was commemorated at a meeting held at the Kozhikode Press Club on November 15. The function, presided over by Kerala Cartoon Academy Chairman Adv. M. M. Monayi, was inaugurated by Forest Minister Binoy Viswam. The first B. M. Gafour Award was received from the minister on behalf of cartoonist Yesudasan by the Academy Chairman. The award consisted of ₹10,001, a certificate of merit, and a plaque. The award was presented for the cartoon column "Extra" in *The Week* magazine published by Manorama. The award committee members were Dr. Sebastian Paul, Dr. M. K. Muneer, Dr. M. M. Basheer, Sukumar, and M. M. Monayi. At the function, Dr. M. M. Basheer, U. A. Khader, P. V. History of Malayalam Cartoons: Seminar and Cartoon Exhibition. On November 9, 2007, with the cooperation of the Department of Malayalam at Bharata Mata College, Thrikkakara, the Kerala Cartoon Academy successfully organized a seminar on the history of Malayalam cartoons. The seminar was inaugurated by Adv. M. M. Monayi, Chairman of the Kerala Cartoon Academy. Prof. Alice, Head of the Department of Malayalam, presided over the event. Cartoonist Sukumar delivered the keynote address.
