Kerala Cartoon Academy Events

The Kerala Cartoon Academy, in collaboration with the American Consulate, organized two programs in Ernakulam on December 2, 2010, featuring renowned American cartoonist and Witty World Director Joe Szabo. On the morning of December 2, an interactive session and demonstration with young cartoonists were held at the Kerala Press Academy. Cultural Minister M. A. Baby, Kerala Press Academy Chairman S. R. Shaktidharan, and others attended the event. കേരള കാര്‍ട്ടൂണ്‍ അക്കാദമി, അമേരിക്കന്‍ കൗണ്‍സിലേറ്റിന്‍റെ സഹകരണത്തോടെ പ്രശസ്ത അമേരിക്കന്‍ കാര്‍ട്ടൂണിസ്റ്റും വിറ്റി വേള്‍ഡ് ഡയറക്ടറുമായ ജോ സാബോയുടെ രണ്ട് പരിപാടികള്‍ എറണാകുളത്ത് 2010 ഡിസംബര്‍ 2 തീയതി സംഘടിപ്പിച്ചു. ഡിസംബര്‍ 2 തീയതി രാവിലെ കേരള പ്രസ്സ് അക്കാദമിയില്‍ യുവ കാര്‍ട്ടൂണിസ്റ്റുകളോട് നടത്തിയ മുഖാമുഖവും ഡമോയും നടന്നു. സാംസ്കാരിക മന്ത്രി എം എ ബേബി, കേരള പ്രസ്സ് അക്കാദമി ചെയര്‍മാന്‍ എസ് ആര്‍ ശക്തിധരന്‍ തുടങ്ങിയവര്‍ ചടങ്ങില്‍ പങ്കെടുത്തു. 

On December 2, 2010, the Kerala Cartoon Academy, in collaboration with the American Consulate, organized a round-table discussion on political cartoons at Gokulam Park with renowned American cartoonist and WittyWorld director Joe Szabo, along with cartoonists and media professionals. Dr. K. S. Radhakrishnan, Taj Group Vice Chairman T. Damu, Cartoon Academy Chairman Prasannan Anikkad, former Chairman M. M. Monayi, cartoonist P. V. A memorial meeting for the cartoonist and artist Shankarankutty was held at the Thiruvananthapuram Press Club on December 1, 2010, in association with the Shankarankutty Memorial Trust. The meeting, presided over by Cartoon Academy Chairman Prasannan Anikkad, was inaugurated by Minister Binoy Viswam. The chief guest, renowned film director Shaji N. Karun, presented the fourth Shankarankutty Memorial Book Cover Award to Zainul Abideen. Professor C. R. Omanakuttan, cartoonists Toms and Sukumar, Academy Secretary Sudhirnath, and Harikrishnan also participated in the event. Zainul Abideen received the award for the book covers he designed for *Islamika Rashtreeyam Vimarshikkappedunnu* ("Islamic Politics Is Criticized") by M. N. Karassery, published by Mathrubhumi, and *Manushyan Oru Aamukham* ("A Preface to Man") by Subhash Chandran, published by DC Books. The award was decided by a committee comprising Dr. M.
