Kerala Cartoon Academy Events

  In 1981, at a planning meeting held under the chairmanship of cartoonist Yesudasan to form the Kerala Cartoon Academy, B. M. Gafoor, S. Mohan, Raju Nair, and Y. A. Rahim participated, along with humor writer and DYSP P. Abdul Hameed to make up the quorum. On November 29, 1981, another meeting held at the Ernakulam Press Club under the chairmanship of cartoonist Shivaram officially gave shape to what is today the Kerala Cartoon Academy. Sixteen cartoonists participated in that meeting. The meeting elected cartoonist Yesudasan as Chairman and B. M. Gafoor as Secretary. Cartoonist Toms was the Vice Chairman. In addition to them, cartoonists Thomas, Shivaram, Nathan, Seeri, John Kakkanad, Shathru, K. S. Gopalan (Bhagavan), Venugopalan (Venu), Dr. P. Kamalasan, Balu, C. A. Solomon, Raju Nair, Shivan, Gopan, M. M. Monayi, Joshy George, Peter Panathara, and M. N.
