**Cartoonist P. K. Manthri Remembered in the Capital** Ahead of the elections, with a discussion seeking the future direction of Kerala, its people, and cartoons, the book *P. K. Manthri*, containing the memoirs and cartoons of P. K. Manthri, was released when his daughter-in-law, Alli Sinilal Manthri, presented copies to those on the dais. Kerala Cartoon Academy Chairperson Sudheer Nath presided over the function. The event was inaugurated by Thiruvananthapuram Mayor V. V. Rajesh, and M. M. Hassan, M. Vijayakumar, Academy Secretary A. Satheesh, and cartoonist Haridas Balakrishnan spoke on the occasion. Thiruvananthapuram Mayor V. V. Rajesh remarked that although social media exerts a widespread influence on society, cartoons have not lost their depth or sharpness. Vijayan and After Vijayan” was organized on February 24, 2026, at Ahalia, Palakkad, jointly by the Ahalia Literary Forum and the O. V. Vijayan Memorial Committee, with the cooperation of the Kerala Cartoon Academy. An art and cartoon camp was also held at the Ahalia campus in Palakkad. Renowned writer N. S. Madhavan, cartoonist E. P. K. Mantri Cartoon Exhibition On February 22, Cultural Affairs Minister Saji Cherian inaugurated a month-long exhibition of selected political cartoons by the renowned cartoonist P. K. Mantri at the Cartoonist Shankar Memorial Cartoon Museum Gallery in Kayamkulam. In our country, there are ministers and former ministers. Today's ministers become former ministers when their term ends. But there is only one person who remains a minister forever—cartoonist P. K. Mantri. Cartoonist Mantri occupied a unique place in the history of Malayalam cartoons. It was in the 1950s that he gained public attention and shone in periodicals and daily newspapers. His drawings remained influential for more than three decades. Most of his cartoons were directed against social injustice. Kerala society as a whole was captivated by his thoughts and humor.
