Kerala Cartoon Academy Events

On May 27, 2010, the mascot of the Commonwealth Games, Shera, attended the certificate distribution ceremony of the cartoon study workshop jointly organized by the Kerala Cartoon Academy and the YMCA. Shera, the cartoon tiger cub, was given a civic reception as he was welcomed into the town of Pathanamthitta in an open jeep. The reception was organized with the cooperation of the Municipality, Hockey Kerala, the Sports Council, the Roller Skating Association, and Marakkar Motors. കേരള കാര്‍ട്ടൂണ്‍ അക്കാദമിയും വൈ.എം.സി.എയും സംയുക്തമായി സംഘടിപ്പിച്ച കാര്‍ട്ടൂണ്‍ പഠനകളരിയുടെ സര്‍ട്ടിഫിക്കറ്റ് വിതരണത്തിന് 2010 മെയ് 27ന് എത്തിയത്  കോമണ്‍ വെല്‍ത്ത് ഗെയിംസിന്‍റെ ഭാഗ്യചിഹ്നമായ ഷേരയായിരുന്നു. ഷേര എന്ന കാര്‍ട്ടൂണ്‍ കുട്ടിക്കടുവയെ പത്തനംതിട്ട നഗരത്തിലേക്ക് തുറന്ന ജീപ്പില്‍ എതിരേറ്റുകൊണ്ടുള്ള പൗരസ്വീകരണം നഗരസഭയുടേയും, ഹോക്കി കേരളയുടേയും, സ്പേര്‍ട്സ് കൗണ്‍സിലിന്‍റേയും, റോളര്‍ സ്ക്കേറ്റിങ്ങ് അസോസിയഷന്‍റേയും, മരക്കാര്‍ മോട്ടേഴ്സിന്‍റേയും സഹകരണത്തോടായിരുന്നു.

As part of the Kadathanad Fest, the Kerala Cartoon Academy organized a laughter forum in Panoor, a place known for political clashes. Cartoonists Sukumar, P. V. Krishnan, Nathan, Sajeev Balakrishnan, actor Ravindran, Kerala Cartoon Academy Chairman Prasannan Anikkad, Secretary Sudheer Nath, Academy members, and more than forty prominent cartoonists participated. 2010 മെയ് 16 ന് കടത്തനാട്ട് ഫെസ്റ്റിന്‍റെ ഭാഗമായി കേരള കാര്‍ട്ടൂണ്‍ അക്കാദമി രാഷ്ട്രീയ സംഘര്‍ഷങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് പേരുകേട്ട പാനൂരില്‍ ചിരിയരങ്ങ് സംഘടിപ്പിച്ചു. കാര്‍ട്ടൂണിസ്റ്റ് സുകുമാര്‍, പി. വി കൃഷ്ണന്‍, നാഥന്‍, സജ്ജീവ് ബാലകൃഷ്ണന്‍, നടന്‍ രവീന്ദ്രന്‍, കേരള കാര്‍ട്ടൂണ്‍ അക്കാദമി ചെയര്‍മാന്‍ പ്രസന്നന്‍ ആനിക്കാട്, സെക്രട്ടറി സുധീര്‍ നാഥ് അക്കാദമി അംഗങ്ങളുമടക്കം നാല്‍പതില്‍ പരം പ്രമുഖ  കാര്‍ട്ടൂണിസ്റ്റുകളും പങ്കെടുത്തു.

As part of the Kadathanad Festival, the Kerala Cartoon Academy organized a two-day State Cartoon Study Camp on May 15 and 16, 2010, at Panoor in Kannur district. Cartoonist P. V. Krishnan served as the camp director. The camp was inaugurated by Shera, the mascot of the Commonwealth Games. Renowned Malayalam writer M. Mukundan attended as the chief guest. Children, youth, and the general public were all given the opportunity to participate in the cartoon workshop. It was the first time in India that such a large-scale cartoon study camp had been organized with participants from all age groups. More than forty prominent cartoonists, including renowned artists Sukumar, Nathan, P. V. Krishnan, actor Ravindran, office bearers and members of the Cartoon Academy, took part in the camp, sharing their experiences and speaking to the participants. The presence of ministers including Smt. Teacher and Kadannappally Ramachandran, senior journalists, leading figures from the arts and cultural fields...

On May 22, 2010, the Kerala Cartoon Academy conducted a one-day district cartoon study camp at the Pathanamthitta YMCA. The camp was inaugurated by Lok Sabha Secretary-General P.D.T. Achary by drawing a cartoon. YMCA President Lebi Philip Mathew presided over the function. Cartoon Academy Chairman Prasannan Anikkad, Academy Secretary Sudheer Nath, Camp Director Balu, and cartoonists Nathan, Sajeev, Karthika Kattanam, Anuraj, Mahesh Vettiyar, and Shaji Mathew led the workshop. More than ninety children participated in the cartoon workshop, and all the children who took part in the rapid cartoon/caricature drawing competition were awarded prizes by the Academy. The valedictory function was inaugurated by Municipal Chairman Adv.
