90 Series: Celebrating Cartoonist Siri’s 90th Birthday
The 90th birthday celebration of cartoonist Siri, a distinguished member of the Kerala Cartoon Academy, was organized on May 31 at 4 PM at the Pallippuram Cooperative Auditorium in Cherai. The event was jointly organized by the Kerala Cartoon Academy, Pallippuram Cooperative Bank, and Samanvaya Cultural Forum.
The meeting, presided over by K. N. Unnikrishnan MLA, was inaugurated by Leader of the Opposition Adv. V. D. Satheesan. Sunil P. Elayidam, who is also a disciple of cartoonist Siri, delivered the keynote address. Cartoon Academy Chairman Sudheer Nath gave the introductory speech.
Former Cartoon Academy Chairman Adv. M. M. Monayi, Secretary A. Satheesh, Ratheesh Ravi, Da Vinci Suresh, and Haridas honored Siri Master on behalf of the Kerala Cartoon Academy. Suma Sunil, daughter of cartoonist Sukumaran, draped a ceremonial shawl over Siri Master as a mark of respect.
Zippy Pallippuram, Joseph Panakkal, Adv. K. V. Abraham, T. P. Somasundaran, and K. R. Gopi spoke at the function. Cartoon Academy Secretary A. Satheesh inaugurated an exhibition of Siri’s cartoons. The book *“Siri”*, published by the Kerala Cartoon Academy, was released by Pooyyappilly Thankappan. Cartoonist Siri delivered the reply speech.
Live caricature drawing was conducted under the leadership of Kerala Cartoon Academy members Sajeev Balakrishnan, Anoop Radhakrishnan, Ratheesh Ravi, Madhoos, Sinilal, Rajan Aranmula, Vinu S., Ananthu, Santhosh T. S., and Anjan Satheesh. Thirty-one Kerala Cartoon Academy members participated in the event.
In addition to the members mentioned above, John Kakkanad, Sivan, E. P. Peter, Baiju Paulose, K. Unnikrishnan, P. U. Noushad, Prathapan Pulimath, Siddique Paravoor, Mohanakumaran Nair, Sunil Pankaj, Surendran Vatchal, Harish Mohan, Manoj Mathasseril, Suresh Harippad, Jis Paul, Tenzing, and others also attended the function.
90 സീരീസ്: കാര്ട്ടൂണിസ്റ്റ് സീരിയുടെ നവതി ആഘോഷിച്ചു
കേരള കാര്ട്ടൂണ് അക്കാദമി വിശിഷ്ടാംഗമായ കാര്ട്ടൂണിസ്റ്റ് സീരിയുടെ നവതി ആഘോഷം മെയ് 31 ന് 4 മണിക്ക് ചെറായിലെ പള്ളിപ്പുറം സഹകരണ ഓഡിറ്റോറിയത്തില് സംഘടിപ്പിച്ചു. കേരള കാര്ട്ടൂണ് അക്കാദമി, പള്ളിപ്പുറം സഹകരണ ബാങ്ക്, സമന്വയ സാംസ്കാരിക വേദി എന്നിവര് ചേര്ന്നാണ് ചടങ്ങ് സംഘടിപ്പിച്ചത്. കെ. എന്. ഉണികൃഷ്ണന് എം.എല് എയുടെ അദ്ധ്യക്ഷതയില് നടന്ന യോഗത്തില് പ്രതിപക്ഷ നേതാവ് അഡ്വ: വി.ഡി. സതീശന് ചടങ്ങ് ഉദ്ഘാടനം ചെയ്തു. കാര്ട്ടൂണിസ്റ്റ് സീരിയുടെ ശിഷ്യന് കൂടിയായ സുനില് പി. ഇളയിടം മുഖ്യ പ്രഭാഷണം നടത്തി. കാര്ട്ടൂണ് അക്കാദമി ചെയര്മാന് സുധീര് നാഥ് ആമുഖ പ്രഭാഷണം നടത്തി. കാര്ട്ടൂണ് അക്കാദമി മുന് ചെയര്മാന് അഡ്വ: എം എം മോനായി, സെക്രട്ടറി എ. സതീഷ്, രതീഷ് രവി, ഡാവിഞ്ചി സുരേഷ്, ഹരിദാസ് എന്നിവര് കേരള കാര്ട്ടൂണ് അക്കാദമിക്ക് വേണ്ടി ചടങ്ങില് സീരി മാഷിനെ ആദരിച്ചു. കാര്ട്ടൂണിസ്റ്റ് സുകുമാറിന്റെ മകള് സുമ സുനില് സീരി മാഷിനെ പൊന്നാട അണിയിച്ച് ആദരിച്ചു. സിപ്പി പള്ളിപ്പുറം, ജോസഫ് പനക്കല്, അഡ്വ കെ വി എബ്രഹാം, ടി.പി. സോമസുന്ദരന്, കെ. ആര് ഗോപി എന്നിവര് ചടങ്ങില് സംസാരിച്ചു. കാര്ട്ടൂണ് അക്കാദമി സെക്രട്ടറി എ സതീഷ് സീരി കാര്ട്ടൂണുകളുടെ പ്രദര്ശനം ഉദ്ഘാടനം ചെയ്തു. 'സീരി' എന്ന കേരള കാര്ട്ടൂണ് അക്കാദമി പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിച്ച പുസ്തകം പൂയ്യപ്പിള്ളി തങ്കപ്പന് പ്രകാശനം ചെയ്തു. കാര്ട്ടൂണിസ്റ്റ് സീരി മറുപടി പ്രസംഗം നടത്തി. കേരള കാര്ട്ടൂണ് അക്കാദമി അംഗങ്ങളായ സജ്ജീവ് ബാലകൃഷ്ണന്, അനൂപ് രാധാകൃഷ്ണന്, രതീഷ് രവി, മധൂസ്, സിനിലാല്, രാജന് ആറന്മുള, വിനു എസ്, അനന്തു, സന്തോഷ് ടി. എസ്, അഞ്ജന് സതീഷ്, എന്നിവരുടെ നേതൃത്ത്വത്തില് തത്സമയ കാരിക്കേച്ചര് രചന നടത്തി. 31 കേരള കാര്ട്ടൂണ് അക്കാദമി അംഗങ്ങള് ചടങ്ങില് പങ്കെടുത്തു. മേല് സൂചിപ്പിച്ച അംഗങ്ങള് കൂടാതെ ജോണ് കാക്കനാട്, ശിവന്, ഇ.പി. പീറ്റര്, ബൈജു പൗലോസ്, കെ. ഉണ്ണികൃഷ്ണന്, പി. യു. നൗഷാദ്, പ്രതാപന് പുളിമാത്ത്, സിദ്ധീക്ക് പറവൂര്, മോഹനകുമാരന് നായര്, സുനില് പങ്കജ്, സുരേന്ദ്രന് വാച്ചാല്, ഹരീഷ് മോഹന്, മനോജ് മത്തശ്ശേരില്, സുരേഷ് ഹരിപ്പാട്, ജിസ് പോള്, ടെന്സിംഗ് തുടങ്ങിയവര് പങ്കെടുത്തു.
