Kerala Cartoon Academy Annual General Meeting

The annual general meeting held in Ernakulam on April 27, 2025, elected the new office bearers of the Kerala Cartoon Academy for the 2025–2027 term. A total of 68 members participated in the meeting. An election was held only for the position of Chairman. Aravind Payyannur served as the returning officer. Sudheer Nath and Prathapan Pulimath contested for the Chairman’s post. Through voting, Sudheer Nath secured a majority and was elected Chairman. All other office bearers were elected unopposed.

A. Satheesh was re-elected as Secretary. Sajeev Balakrishnan is the new Treasurer. Anoop Radhakrishnan and K. V. M. Unni are the new Vice Chairmen. Sajeev Shooranad is the Joint Secretary. Ratheesh Ravi, Surendran Varachal, Madhoos, Vinu S., Harish Mohan, Balachandran Idukki, Suresh Harippad, Sunil Pankaj, Haridas, and Mohana Kumaran Nair are members of the Executive Committee.

The general meeting reviewed the activities carried out by the Kerala Cartoon Academy during the previous year, during which it organized a variety of programs. It was decided to conduct a three-day orientation camp to help Academy members gain knowledge of new technologies. The meeting also decided to publish ten books about eminent cartoonists who have passed away and senior cartoonists who have made significant contributions to the field of cartooning.

It was decided to honor Cartoonist Seeri, a founding member of the Academy who is celebrating his 90th year, on May 31 at Cherai, which has been his field of work. The budget for the coming year’s activities was presented and approved at the meeting. The general meeting also approved the Kerala Cartoon Academy’s report for the 2024–2025 period presented by the Secretary, as well as the accounts presented by the Treasurer.

കേരള കാര്‍ട്ടൂണ്‍ അക്കാദമി വാര്‍ഷിക പൊതുയോഗം

കേരള കാര്‍ട്ടൂണ്‍ അക്കാദമിയുടെ 2025-2027 വര്‍ഷത്തെ പുതിയ ഭാരവാഹികളെ എറണാകുളത്ത് 2025 ഏപ്രില്‍ 27ന് നടന്ന വാര്‍ഷിക പൊതുയോഗം തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തു. 68 അംഗങ്ങള്‍ പൊതുയോഗത്തില്‍ പങ്കെടുത്തു. ചെയര്‍മാന്‍ സ്ഥാനത്തേക്ക് മാത്രമായിരുന്നു തിരഞ്ഞെടുപ്പ് നടന്നത്. അരവിന്ദ് പയ്യന്നൂര്‍ ആയിരുന്നു വരണാധികാരി. സുധീര്‍ നാഥും, പ്രതാപന്‍ പുളിമാത്തുമായിരുന്നു ചെയര്‍മാന്‍ സ്ഥാനത്തേയ്ക്ക് മത്സരിച്ചത്. വേട്ടിങ്ങിലൂടെ സുധീര്‍ നാഥ് ഭൂരിപക്ഷം നേടി ചെയര്‍മാനായി. മറ്റ് ഭാരവാഹികളെല്ലാം എതിരില്ലാതെ തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കപ്പെട്ടു. എ സതീഷ് സെക്രട്ടറിയായി വീണ്ടും തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കപ്പെട്ടു. സജീവ് ബാലകൃഷ്ണനാണ് പുതിയ ട്രഷറര്‍. അനൂപ് രാധാകൃഷ്ണന്‍, കെ വി എം ഉണ്ണി എന്നിവരാണ് പുതിയ വൈസ് ചെയര്‍മാന്‍മാര്‍. സജീവ് ശൂരനാട് ജോയിന്‍റ് സെക്രട്ടറിയാണ്. രതീഷ് രവി, സുരേന്ദ്രന്‍ വാരച്ചാല്‍, മധൂസ്, വിനു എസ്, ഹരീഷ് മോഹന്‍, ബാലചന്ദ്രന്‍ ഇടുക്കി, സുരേഷ് ഹരിപ്പാട്, സുനില്‍ പങ്കജ്, ഹരിദാസ്, മോഹന കുമാരന്‍ നായര്‍ എന്നിവര്‍ നിര്‍വ്വാഹക സമിതി അംഗങ്ങളാണ്. വൈവിധ്യങ്ങളായ പരിപാടികള്‍ സംഘടിപ്പിച്ച കേരള കാര്‍ട്ടൂണ്‍ അക്കാദമിയുടെ കഴിഞ്ഞ വര്‍ഷത്തെ പ്രവര്‍ത്തനങ്ങള്‍ പൊതുയോഗം വിലയിരുത്തി. കാര്‍ട്ടൂണ്‍ അക്കാദമി അംഗങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് പുതിയ സാങ്കേതികവിദ്യയുടെ പരിജ്ഞാനം നേടുന്നതിനായി മൂന്നുദിവസം നീണ്ടുനില്‍ക്കുന്ന ഓറിയന്‍റേഷന്‍ ക്യാമ്പ് സംഘടിപ്പിക്കുവാന്‍ തീരുമാനിച്ചു. മണ്‍മറഞ്ഞുപോയ പ്രമുഖ കാര്‍ട്ടൂണിസ്റ്റുകളെയും കാര്‍ട്ടൂണ്‍ രംഗത്ത് വലിയ സംഭാവനകള്‍ ചെയ്ത മുതിര്‍ന്ന  കാര്‍ട്ടൂണിസ്റ്റുകളെയും കുറിച്ചുള്ള 10 പുസ്തകങ്ങള്‍ പുറത്തിറക്കാന്‍ തീരുമാനിച്ചു. നവതിയാഘോഷിക്കുന്ന അക്കാദമിയുടെ സ്ഥാപക അംഗം കാര്‍ട്ടൂണിസ്റ്റ് സീരിയെ മെയ് 31ന് അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്‍റെ പ്രവര്‍ത്തന മേഖലയായ ചെറായിയില്‍ ആദരിക്കുവാന്‍ തീരുമാനിച്ചു. വരും വര്‍ഷത്തെ പ്രവര്‍ത്തനങ്ങള്‍ക്കായി ബജറ്റും പൊതുയോഗത്തില്‍ അവതരിപ്പിച്ച് പാസാക്കി. കേരള കാര്‍ട്ടൂണ്‍ അക്കാദമിയുടെ 2024-2025 കാലയളവിലെ റിപ്പോര്‍ട്ട് സെക്രട്ടറിയും, കണക്കു

കള്‍ ട്രഷററും അവതരിപ്പിച്ചത് പൊതുയോഗം പാസാക്കി.
