Divakaran Receives Distinguished Membership

On August 2, 2024, Divakaran, a cartoonist and painter leading a retired life in Kannur, was presented with the Distinguished Membership of the Kerala Cartoon Academy by Kadannappally Ramachandran, Minister for Registration, Museums and Archaeology and MLA of Kannur, at a simple function held at his residence. The Kerala Cartoon Academy conferred the Distinguished Membership on Divakaran in recognition of his significant contributions to the fields of cartooning and painting. The function was presided over by Kerala Cartoon Academy Chairman Sudheer Nath. Senior journalist Venkitesh Ramakrishnan, artist Mahesh Maroli, J. P. Nirmalagiri, Jayaraj Velloor, Aravind Payyannur, and Girish Makreri, among others, attended the event. On behalf of the Kannur Zone of the Kerala Chitrakala Parishath, President Colonel Suresan V. P. honored him with a memento. Cartoon Academy Treasurer Noushad P. U. delivered the welcome address, and Executive Committee member and cartoonist Surendran Varachal proposed the vote of thanks.

2024 ആഗസ്റ്റ് 2ന് കണ്ണൂരില്‍ വിശ്രമ ജീവിതം നയിക്കുന്ന കാര്‍ട്ടൂണിസ്റ്റും ചിത്രകാരനുമായ ദിവാകരനെ കേരള കാര്‍ട്ടൂണ്‍ അക്കാദമിയുടെ വിശിഷ്ടാംഗത്വം രജിസ്ട്രേഷന്‍, മ്യൂസിയം, പുരാവസ്തു വകുപ്പ് മന്ത്രിയും കണ്ണൂര്‍ എം.എല്‍.എയുമായ കടന്നപ്പള്ളി രാമചന്ദ്രന്‍  അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്‍റെ വീട്ടില്‍ നടന്ന ലളിതമായ ചടങ്ങില്‍ സമ്മാനിച്ചു. കാര്‍ട്ടൂണ്‍ ചിത്രകലാ രംഗത്ത് നല്‍കിയ മഹത്തായ സംഭാവനകള്‍ കണക്കിലെടുത്താണ് കേരള കാര്‍ട്ടൂണ്‍ അക്കാദമി വിശിഷ്ടാംഗത്വം ദിവാകരന്  നല്‍കിയത്. കേരള കാര്‍ട്ടൂണ്‍ അക്കാദമി ചെയര്‍മാന്‍ സുധീര്‍ നാഥ് അദ്ധ്യക്ഷനായിരുന്നു. മുതിര്‍ന്ന മാധ്യമപ്രവര്‍ത്തകന്‍ വെങ്കിടേഷ് രാമകൃഷ്ണന്‍, ആര്‍ട്ടിസ്റ്റ് മഹേഷ് മാറോളി, ജെ പി നിര്‍മ്മലഗിരി, ജയരാജ് വെള്ളൂര്‍, അരവിന്ദ് പയ്യന്നൂര്‍, ഗിരീഷ് മക്രേരി തുടങ്ങിയവര്‍ ചടങ്ങില്‍ പങ്കെടുത്തു.  കേരള ചിത്രകലാ പരിഷത്ത് കണ്ണൂര്‍ സോണിന് വേണ്ടി പ്രസിഡണ്ട് കേണല്‍ സുരേശന്‍ വി.പി. ഉപഹാരം നല്‍കി ആദരിച്ചു. കാര്‍ട്ടൂണ്‍ അക്കാദമി ട്രഷറര്‍ നൗഷാദ് പി.യു.സ്വഗതവും, നിര്‍വ്വാഹക സമിതി അംഗം കാര്‍ട്ടൂണിസ്റ്റ് സുരേന്ദ്രന്‍ വാരച്ചാല്‍ നന്ദിയും പറഞ്ഞു.
