Cartoonist Ravindran Centenary
On May 15, 2024, at 5 p.m., a memorial function was held as part of the birth centenary celebrations of the late renowned cartoonist P. Ravindran, who had been a member of the Kerala Cartoon Academy. An exhibition of selected cartoons by P. Ravindran was also held at Darbar Hall on May 14 and 15.
Journalist Dr. Sebastian Paul, who delivered the memorial lecture, said that P. Ravindran’s cartoons were once a history of Indian politics and that many of them remain relevant even today. DCC General Secretary V. P. George, V. P. Antony, former MLA Dominic Presentation, and cartoonist Unnikrishnan also spoke at the event.
The function was presided over by Kerala Cartoon Academy Vice Chairman Anoop Radhakrishnan. Secretary A. Satheesh delivered the welcome address, and Gnaneshwaran, son of cartoonist Ravindran, delivered the vote of thanks.
കാര്ട്ടൂണിസ്റ്റ് രവീന്ദ്രന് ജന്മശതാബ്ദി
2024 മെയ് 15 ന് വൈകീട്ട് അഞ്ചിന് കേരള കാര്ട്ടൂണ് അക്കാദമി അംഗമായിരുന്ന അന്തരിച്ച പ്രശസ്ത കാര്ട്ടൂണിസ്റ്റ് പി. രവീന്ദ്രന്റെ ജന്മശതാബ്ദി ആഘോഷങ്ങളുടെ ഭാഗമായ അനുസ്മരണ ചടങ്ങ് നടന്നു. പി. രവീന്ദ്രന്റെ തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്ത കാര്ട്ടൂണുകളുടെ പ്രദര്ശനവും മെയ് 14, 15 തിയതികളില് ദര്ബാര് ഹാളില് നടത്തിയിരുന്നു. കാര്ട്ടൂണിസ്റ്റ് പി രവീന്ദ്രന്റെ കാര്ട്ടൂണ് ഒരുകാലത്ത് ഇന്ത്യന് രാഷ്ട്രീയത്തിന്റെ ചരിത്രമാണെന്നും അവയില് ഏറെയും ഇന്നും പ്രസക്തമാണെന്നും അനുസ്മരണ പ്രഭാഷണം നടത്തിയ മാധ്യമ പ്രവര്ത്തകനായ ഡോക്ടര് സെബാസ്റ്റ്യന് പോള് പറഞ്ഞു. ചടങ്ങില് ഡിസിസി ജനറല് സെക്രട്ടറി വി പി ജോര്ജ്, വി പി ആന്റണി മുന് എംഎല്എ ഡൊമിനിക് പ്രസിഡന്റേഷന് കാര്ട്ടൂണിസ്റ്റ് ഉണ്ണികൃഷ്ണന് എന്നിവരും സംസാരിച്ചു. കേരള കാര്ട്ടൂണ് അക്കാദമി വൈസ് ചെയര്മാന് അനൂപ് രാധാക്യഷ്ണന് അദ്ധ്യക്ഷത വഹിച്ച ചടങ്ങില് സെക്രട്ടറി എ സതീഷ് സ്വാഗതവും, കാര്ട്ടൂണിസ്റ്റ് രവീന്ദ്രന്റെ മകന് ജ്ഞാനേശ്വരന് നന്ദിയും പറഞ്ഞു.
