Anjan and Friends, and Us
December 3, 2015, was a day of great pride for the Kerala Cartoon Academy. On that day, as part of the National Disability Day celebrations, the Academy's icon, Anjan Satheesh, received the National Award for Creative Talent among Persons with Disabilities. It was a matter of immense pride that the Central Government selected Anjan based on the recommendation of the Cartoon Academy. Representing the Cartoon Academy, Vice Chairman K. Unnikrishnan and Secretary Sudhir Nath attended the award ceremony held at Vigyan Bhavan in Delhi.
Anjan and his parents, who received the award, were honored on the evening of December 3 at a program titled *Anjan and Friends, and Us*, held at Kerala House in Delhi. The All India Malayali Association and Namma Kalakshetra also collaborated with the Academy in organizing the event. The participation of 22 children with disabilities from Malappuram, who presented cultural performances, added to the grandeur of the ceremony.
At the function, which began with a welcome address by All India Malayali Association President Babu Panicker, Cartoon Academy Vice Chairman K. Unnikrishnan introduced Anjan to the audience. Supreme Court Justice Kurian Joseph honored Anjan by draping him with a ceremonial shawl. Members of Parliament P. Karunakaran, K. N. Balagopal, A. Sampath, M. B. Rajesh, T. N. Seema, BJP state leader A. N. Radhakrishnan, Vijeesh Mani, and others attended the event.
The program, led by renowned journalist and presenter Bindu Menon, was further enriched by songs performed by Ajith Maniyan and his team from the Song and Drama Division, as well as a magic show by Wilson Champakkulam. Cartoon Academy Secretary Sudhir Nath delivered the vote of thanks. A dinner reception was also arranged after the ceremony.
അഞ്ജനും കൂട്ടുകാരും ഞങ്ങളും
2015 ഡിസംബര് 3ാം തിയതി കേരള കാര്ട്ടൂണ് അക്കാദമിക്ക് ഏറെ അഭിമാനമായ ദിവസമായിരുന്നു. അന്നായിരുന്നു നാഷണല് ഡിസേബിള് ഡേ ആഘോഷത്തിന്റെ ഭാഗമായി കാര്ട്ടൂണ് അക്കാദമി ഐക്കണ്, അഞ്ജന് സതീശ് ഭിന്നശേഷിയുള്ളവരിലെ സര്ഗപ്രതിഭയ്ക്കുള്ള ദേശിയ അവാര്ഡ് ഏറ്റ് വാങ്ങിയത്. കാര്ട്ടൂണ് അക്കാദമിയുടെ ശുപാര്ശ പ്രകാരമായിരുന്നു കേന്ദ്ര സര്ക്കാര് അഞ്ജനെ പരിഗണിച്ചത് എന്നത് ഏറെ അഭിമാനത്തിന് വക നല്കുന്നതാണ്. കാര്ട്ടൂണ് അക്കാദമിയെ പ്രതിനിധീകരിച്ച് വൈസ് ചെയര്മാന് കെ ഉണ്ണിക്യഷ്ണനും, സെക്രട്ടറി സുധീര്നാഥും ഡല്ഹിയിലെ വിജ്ഞാന് ഭവനില് നടന്ന അവാര്ഡ് ദാന ചടങ്ങില് പങ്കെടുത്തു. അവര്ഡ് ഏറ്റ് വാങ്ങിയ അഞ്ജനേയും മാതാപിതാക്കളേയും ഡിസംബര് 3ാം തിയതി വൈകീട്ട് ഡല്ഹിയിലെ കേരളാ ഹൗസില് നടന്ന അഞ്ജനും കൂട്ടുകാരും ഞങ്ങളും എന്ന പരിപാടിയില് ആദരിച്ചു. ആള് ഇന്ത്യ മലയാളി അസോസിയഷന്, നമ കലാക്ഷേത്ര എന്നീ സംഘടനകളും അക്കാദമിക്കൊപ്പം സഹകരിച്ചു. മലപ്പുറത്തു നിന്നുള്ള 22 ഭിന്നശേഷിയുള്ള കുട്ടികളും പങ്കെടുത്തത് കലാപരിപാടികള് അവതരിപ്പിച്ചത് ചടങ്ങിന്റെ മാറ്റ് കൂട്ടി. ആള് ഇന്ത്യ മലയാളി അസോസിയഷന് പ്രസിഡന്റ് ബാബു പണിക്കര് സ്വാഗതം പറഞ്ഞ ചടങ്ങില് കാര്ട്ടൂണ് അക്കാദമി വൈസ് ചെയര്മാന് കെ ഉണ്ണിക്യഷ്ണന് അഞ്ജനെ സദസിന് പരിചയപ്പെടുത്തി സംസാരിച്ചു. സുപ്രീം കോടതി ജസ്റ്റിസ് കുര്യന് ജോസഫ് പൊന്നാട അണിയിച്ച് അഞ്ജനെ ആദരിച്ചു. പാര്ലമെന്റ് അംഗങ്ങളായ പി കരുണാകരന്, കെ എന് ബാലഗോപാല്, എ സമ്പത്ത്, എം ബി രാജേഷ്, ടി എന് സീമ, ബിജെപി സംസ്ഥാന നേതാവ് എ എന് രാധാക്യഷ്ണന്, വിജീഷ് മണി, തുടങ്ങിയവര് പങ്കെടുത്തു. പ്രശസ്ത മാധ്യമ പ്രവര്ത്തകയും അവതാരകയുമായ ബിന്ദു മേനോന് നേത്യത്വം കൊടുത്ത ചടങ്ങില് സോങ്ങ് ആന്റ് ഡ്രാമാ ഡിവിഷനിലെ അജിത്ത് മണിയന്റേയും സംഘത്തിന്റേയും പാട്ടുകളും, വില്സന് ചമ്പക്കുളത്തിന്റെ മാജിക്ക് ഷോയും മികവേകി. കാര്ട്ടൂണ് അക്കാദമി സെക്രട്ടറി സുധീര്നാഥ് നന്ദി പറഞ്ഞു. ചടങ്ങിന് ശേഷം അത്താഴ വിരുന്നും ഒരുക്കിയിരുന്നു.
