TVG Menon Conferred Distinguished Membership
On November 25, 2015, senior member TVG Menon was honored with Distinguished Membership by the Kerala Cartoon Academy. T.V.G. Menon, who draws under the name "Menon," is a cartoonist who has created a distinct identity through his unique style. Known for his English cartoons that combine humor and thought, which he shares on social media, he received the Kerala Lalithakala Akademi's Honorable Mention Award for cartoons in 2005 and 2011.
The ceremony, held at the Durbar Hall Art Gallery in Ernakulam, was inaugurated by Kochi Mayor Soumini Jain. During the event, presided over by Kerala Cartoon Academy Chairman Prasannan Anikkad, Mayor Soumini Jain presented the Academy's Distinguished Membership to TVG Menon. Cartoonist Yesudasan was the chief guest.
Justice M.R. Hariharan Nair, Ernakulam Karayogam General Secretary P. Ramachandran (Venu), T. Kaladharan, Academy Vice Chairman K. Unnikrishnan, Joint Secretary Manoj Mathassery, Executive Member Anoop Radhakrishnan, and others offered their felicitations.
As part of the event, an exhibition of TVG Menon's cartoons was organized for one week at the Durbar Hall Art Gallery. The distribution of the Kerala Cartoon Academy's identity cards was inaugurated by the Academy's founding Chairman, cartoonist Yesudasan, by presenting the first card to former Chairman Aravindan.
ടി വി ജി മേനോന് വിശിഷ്ടാംഗത്വം
2015 നവംബര് 25ന് കേരള കാര്ട്ടൂണ് അക്കാദമിയുടെ മുതിര്ന്ന അംഗം ടി വി ജി മേനോനെ വിശിഷ്ടാംഗത്വം നല്കി ആദരിച്ചു. മേനോന് എന്ന പേരില് വരയ്ക്കുന്ന ടി.വി.ജി.മേനോന് സവിശേഷമായ ശൈലി കൊണ്ട് കാര്ട്ടൂണില് വ്യക്തിമുദ്ര പതിപ്പിച്ച വ്യക്തിയാണ്. ചിരിയും ചിന്തയും ചേര്ന്നുനില്ക്കുന്ന ഇംഗ്ലീഷ് കാര്ട്ടൂണുകളുമായി സാമൂഹിക മാധ്യമങ്ങളിലുള്ള അദ്ദേഹം 2005, 2011 വര്ഷങ്ങളില് കേരള ലളിത കലാ അക്കാദമിയുടെ കാര്ട്ടൂണിനുള്ള ഓണറബിള് മെന്ഷന് പുസ്ക്കാരം നേടിയിട്ടുണ്ട്. എറണാകുളം ഡര്ബാര് ആര്ട്ട് ഗ്യാലറി ഹാളില് നടന്ന ചടങ്ങ് കൊച്ചി മേയര് സൗമിനി ജെയിന് ഉത്ഘാടനം ചെയ്യ്തു. കാര്ട്ടൂണ് അക്കാദമി ചെയര്മാന് പ്രസന്നന് ആനിക്കാട് അധ്യക്ഷത വഹിച്ച ചങ്ങെില് കാര്ട്ടൂണ് അക്കാദമിയുടെ വിശിഷ്ടാംഗത്വം ടി വി ജി മേനോന് കൊച്ചിന് മേയര് സൗമിനി ജെയിന് സമ്മാനിച്ചു. കാര്ട്ടൂണിസ്റ്റ് യേശുദാസന് മുഖ്യാതിഥിയായിരുന്നു. ജസ്റ്റിസ് എം.ആര്.ഹരിഹരന് നായര്, എറണാകുളം കരയോഗം ജനറല് സെക്രട്ടറി പി.രാമചന്ദ്രന്(വേണു), ടി. കലാധരന്, അക്കാദമി വൈസ് ചെയര്മാന് കെ ഉണ്ണിക്യഷ്ണന്, ജോയിന്റ് സെക്രട്ടറി മനോജ് മത്താശ്ശേരി, എക്സിക്യൂട്ടീവ് അംഗം അനൂപ് രാധാക്യഷ്ണന്, എന്നിവര് ആശംസകള് നേര്ന്ന് സംസാരിച്ചു. ടി വി ജി മേനോന്റെ കാര്ട്ടൂണുകളുടെ പ്രദര്ശനവും ചടങ്ങിന്റെ ഭാഗമായി ഒരിഴ്ച്ച ഡര്ബാര് ഹാള് ആര്ട്ട് ഗ്യാലറിയില് സംഘടിപ്പിച്ചിരുന്നു. കാര്ട്ടൂണ് അക്കാദമിയുടെ ഐഡിന്റിറ്റി കാര്ഡുകളുടെ വിതരണം കാര്ട്ടൂണ് അക്കാദമി സ്ഥാപക ചെയര്മാനായ കാര്ട്ടൂണിസ്റ്റ് യേശുദാസന് മുന് ചെയര്മാന് അരവിന്ദന് നല്കി നിര്വ്വഹിച്ചു.
