Anti-Endosulfan Campaign @ State School Arts Festival

The Kerala Cartoon Academy conducted the Anti-Endosulfan Campaign on a very large scale at the State School Arts Festival. Although the program was originally planned to be held from January 18 to 23, 2011, in a specially prepared pavilion at the Thirunakkara Grounds in Kottayam, following requests from the public and the organizers, a second pavilion was set up at the main venue, the Police Grounds. The pavilions featured exhibitions of cartoons, caricatures, and photographs, along with live caricature drawing.
On January 18, the event was inaugurated by the Minister for Cultural Affairs, M. A. Baby. On the first day, Academy member Anjan Satheesh served as the chief caricaturist. Numerous prominent personalities, including Vasavan MLA, Sukumar Azhikode, M. Mukundan, Justice K. T. Thomas, Muhammed Hanish, Chemmanam Chacko, K. P. A. C. Lalitha, and Sugathakumari Teacher, participated in the Academy's programs.
The event, led by Academy Chairman Prasannan Anikkad, also saw the participation of Vice Chairmen Peter, Balu, and Sathyadev, along with more than 25 cartoonists including Karthika Kattanam, Sajeev, Anil Vega, Jayaraj T. G., Madhoos, Santhosh, and Abba Vazhoor.
As part of the program, the Academy succeeded in publishing a souvenir. The Academy was also able to donate fifty thousand rupees to poor people suffering from the effects of the Endosulfan disaster.
