Masters' Strokes Cartoon exhibition @ Kadathanad Fest

On April 16, 2010, as part of the Kadathanad Fest, the Kerala Cartoon Academy organized an exhibition of senior cartoonists' works in Thalassery under the title *Masters' Strokes*. The exhibition, *Masters' Strokes*, also presented the history of cartooning in Kerala. It featured the first Malayalam cartoon, the cover of the first humor magazine, and cartoons by K. S. Pillai, Shankar, Mantri, Shivaram, Samuel, Kutty, Toms, Yesudasan, Sukumar, P. V. Krishnan, Seeri, Keralavarma, Nathan, and others.

The exhibition was inaugurated by a girl named Jisha, who drew a caricature of M. Mukundan, the storyteller of Mahe. M. Mukundan, K. P. Mohanan MLA, Cartoon Academy Secretary Sudheer Nath, Jayaraj Velloor, Surendran Varachal, and others spoke at the function.

2010 ഏപ്രില്‍ 16 ന് കടത്തനാട്ട് ഫെസ്റ്റിന്‍റെ ഭാഗമായി കേരള കാര്‍ട്ടൂണ്‍ അക്കാദമി മാസ്റ്റേഴ്സ് സ്ട്രാക്ക്സ് എന്ന പേരില്‍ മുതിര്‍ന്ന കാര്‍ട്ടൂണിസ്റ്റുകളുടെ കാര്‍ട്ടൂണ്‍ പ്രദര്‍ശനം തലശേരിയില്‍ ഒരുക്കി. കേരളത്തിലെ കാര്‍ട്ടൂണിന്‍റെ ചരിത്രം കൂടിയായിരുന്നു മാസ്റ്റേഴ്സ് സ്ട്രാക്ക്സ് എന്ന പ്രദര്‍ശനം. മലയാളത്തിലെ ആദ്യ കാര്‍ട്ടൂണും, ആദ്യ ഹാസ്യ മാസികയുടെ മുഖചിത്രവും, കെ എസ്സ് പിള്ള, ശങ്കര്‍, മന്ത്രി, ശിവറാം തുടങ്ങി സാമുവല്‍, കുട്ടി, റ്റോംസ്, യേശുദാസന്‍, സുകുമാര്‍, പി വി ക്യഷ്ണന്‍, സീരി, കേരളവര്‍മ്മ, നാഥന്‍ തുടങ്ങിയവരുടെ കാര്‍ട്ടൂണുകളും പ്രദര്‍ശനത്തിലുണ്ടായിരുന്നു. പ്രദര്‍ശനം ജിഷ എന്ന പെണ്‍കുട്ടി മയ്യഴിയുടെ കഥാകാരന്‍ എം മുകുന്ദന്‍റെ കാരിക്കേച്ചര്‍ വരച്ച് നിര്‍വഹിച്ചു. എം. മുകുന്ദന്‍, കെ. പി മോഹന്‍ എം.എല്‍.എ, കാര്‍ട്ടൂണ്‍ അക്കാദമി സെക്രട്ടറി സുധീര്‍നാഥ്, ജയരാജ് വെള്ളൂര്‍, സുരേന്ദ്രന്‍ വാരച്ചാല്‍ തുടങ്ങിയവര്‍ ചടങ്ങില്‍ സംസാരിച്ചു.
