The Kerala Cartoon Academy, in collaboration with DC Books, published elephant cartoons in book form. A notable book launch ceremony was held on February 1, 2010, at the DC Books International Book Festival on Marine Drive in Ernakulam. The elephant cartoon collection titled *Aana Vara*, published by DC Books, was ceremonially launched by an elephant named Rudran. The first copy of the book was received from Rudran by six-year-old Neeraj Babu. At the event, D. C. Ravi, renowned elephant veterinarian K. C. Panikkar, director Sashi Paravoor, Kerala Cartoon Academy Chairman Prasannan Aanikkad, Secretary Sudheer Nath, and others spoke.
A particularly memorable moment was when Lekha Nair, the wife of Academy member Sajeev and a renowned playback singer, performed the famous song "Aarattinaanakal Ezhunnalli...". The book *Aana Vara* includes 121 outstanding cartoons drawn and compiled by Academy members. The cartoons featuring elephants as characters were selected from the Kerala Cartoon Academy's collection. Not only Indian cartoonists but also foreign cartoonists participated in this initiative.
The Academy has also started a blog dedicated to elephant cartoons: http://www.elephantcartoons.blogspot.com. More than 200 elephant cartoons have been published there. An exhibition of elephant cartoons was also organized as part of the event.
