Kottayam Children's Cartoon Camp

The two-day Cartoon Study Camp organized at the state level for children in collaboration with the Kottayam Public Library was held on May 13 and 14, 2009. It was inaugurated by the children's favorite star, Ajay Kumar (Undapakru, now known as Guinness Pakru). C. G. Vasudevan Nair, Vice President of the Kottayam Public Library, Secretary T. Shashikumar, Surendran Varachal, and others attended the function. Cartoonist Nathan served as the camp director.

The camp was attended by a large number of renowned cartoonists, including Toms, Sukumar, P. V. Krishnan, Seeri, Peter, Venu, Unnikrishnan, Raju Nair, Balu, Mohanachandran, John Kakkanad, Joshy George, Prasannan Anikkad, Sudhir Nath, Sajeev, Anuraj, Santhosh T. S., Suresh N., Khalilud, Dwijith Payyanur, Krishnakumar, Abba Vazhoor, Biju Chandran, Jayaraj Velloor, Dinraj, Karthika Kattanam, Madhus, Murali K. Mukundan, Anil, Prashanth, Father Jose Punamadam, Jithesh, Badusha, Prashob, Radha Babu, and many others.

A particularly noteworthy session was the class conducted by the renowned film actor Ravindran. On the second day, the camp was inaugurated by the Leader of the Opposition, Oommen Chandy. He interacted with the children on the topic of cartoons. Senior political leader K. M. Mani, Vasavan MLA, the Municipal Chairman, the Vice Chairman, the Leader of the Opposition, and many other prominent personalities visited the camp.

സംസ്ഥാന തലത്തിലുള്ള കുട്ടികള്‍ക്കായി കോട്ടയം പബ്ലിക് ലൈബ്രറിയുടെ സഹകരണത്തോടെ സംഘടിപ്പിച്ച ദ്വദിന കാര്‍ട്ടൂണ്‍ പഠനക്യാമ്പ് 2009 മെയ് 13, 14 തീയതികളിലായിരുന്നു. കുട്ടികളുടെ പ്രിയതാരം അജയകുമാര്‍ (ഉണ്ടപക്രു ഇപ്പോള്‍ ഗിന്നസ് പക്രു) ഉത്ഘാടനം ചെയ്തു. കോട്ടയം പബ്ലിക് ലൈബ്രറിയുടെ വൈസ് പ്രസിഡന്‍റ് സി.ജി വാസുദേവന്‍ നായര്‍, സെക്രട്ടറി ടി.ശശികുമാര്‍, സുരേന്ദ്രന്‍ വാരച്ചാല്‍ തുടങ്ങിയവര്‍ ചടങ്ങില്‍ പങ്കെടുത്തു. കാര്‍ട്ടൂണിസ്റ്റ് നാഥനായിരുന്നു ക്യാമ്പ് ഡയറക്ടര്‍. പ്രശസ്ത കാര്‍ട്ടൂണിസ്റ്റുകളായ റ്റോംസ്, സുകുമാര്‍, പി. വി. കൃഷ്ണന്‍, സീരി, പീറ്റര്‍, വേണു, ഉണ്ണിക്യഷ്ണന്‍, രാജു നായര്‍, ബാലു, മോഹനചന്ദ്രന്‍, ജോണ്‍ കാക്കനാട്, ജോഷി ജോര്‍ജ്,  പ്രസന്നന്‍ ആനിക്കാട്, സുധീര്‍നാഥ്, സജ്ജീവ്, അനുരാജ്, സന്തോഷ് ടി. എസ്, സുരേഷ് എന്‍, ഖലീലുദ്, ദ്വിജിത്ത് പയ്യന്നൂര്‍, ക്യഷ്ണകുമാര്‍, അബ്ബ വാഴൂര്‍, ബിജു ചന്ദ്രന്‍, ജയരാജ് വെള്ളൂര്‍, ദിന്‍രാജ്, കാര്‍ത്തിക കറ്റാനം, മധൂസ്, മുരളി കെ. മുകുന്ദന്‍, അനില്‍, പ്രശാന്ത്, ഫാദര്‍ ജോസ് പുനമഠം, ജിതേഷ്, ബാദുഷ, പ്രഷോബ്, രാധാ ബാബു തുടങ്ങി വന്‍നിര കാര്‍ട്ടൂണിസ്റ്റുകളാണ് ക്യാമ്പില്‍ പങ്കെടുത്തത്.  പ്രശസ്ത ചലച്ചിത്ര താരം രവീന്ദ്രന്‍ ക്ലാസ് എടുത്തത് ഏറെ ശ്രദ്ധേയമായിരുന്നു. പ്രതിപക്ഷനേതാവ് ഉമ്മന്‍ ചാണ്ടിയാണ് രണ്ടാം ദിനം ഉദ്ഘാടനം ചെയ്തത്. അദ്ദേഹം കാര്‍ട്ടൂണ്‍ എന്ന വിഷയത്തില്‍ കുട്ടികളുമായി സംവാദം നടത്തി. മുതിര്‍ന്ന രാഷ്ട്രീയ നേതാവ് കെ. എം. മാണി, വാസവന്‍ എം. എല്‍. എ. മുനിസിപ്പല്‍ ചെയര്‍മാനും, വൈസ് ചെയര്‍മാനും പ്രതിപക്ഷനേതാവും അടക്കം ഒട്ടേറെ പ്രമുഖര്‍ ക്യാമ്പ് സന്ദര്‍ശിച്ചു.
