Cartoonist Shankarankutty Memorial
A memorial event in honor of cartoonist Shankarankutty, along with the presentation of the Best Book Cover Award instituted by the Shankarankutty Trust in association with the Cartoon Academy, was held at the Kottayam Press Club on November 29, 2008. At the meeting, presided over by Academy Chairman Adv. M.M. Monayi, Prof. C.R. Omanakuttan delivered the memorial address.
The Shankarankutty Memorial Book Cover Award was presented by Mangalam daily's Managing Editor, Sabu Varghese, to Sherif for designing the cover of the book *Aadujeevitham*. Malayala Manorama Editorial Director Thomas Jacob, K. Madhavan Nair, Joy Thirumulapuram, Sudheer Nath, Prasannan Anikkad, and Shankarankutty's son Harishankar also spoke at the function.
The award-winning work was selected by renowned film director Shashi Paravoor, senior journalist N.P. Chekkutty, and cartoonist Sudheer Nath.

കാര്ട്ടൂണിസ്റ്റ് ശങ്കരന്കുട്ടിയുടെ സ്മരണയ്ക്കായി ശങ്കരന്കുട്ടി ട്രസ്റ്റ് കാര്ട്ടൂണ് ആക്കാദമിയുടെ സഹകരണത്തോയെ ഏര്പ്പെടുത്തിയ മികച്ച പുസ്തക കവര് അവാര്ഡ് വിതരണവും അനുസ്മരണ ചടങ്ങും കോട്ടയം പ്രസ്സ് ക്ലബ്ബില് 2008 നവംമ്പര് 29-ാം തീയതി നടന്നു. അക്കാദമി ചെയര്മാന് അഡ്വ.എം.എം.മോനായിയുടെ അദ്ധ്യക്ഷതയില് ചേര്ന്ന യോഗത്തില് പ്രൊ.സി ആര്.ഓമനക്കുട്ടന് അനുസ്മരണ പ്രഭാഷണം നടത്തി. ശങ്കരന്കുട്ടി സ്മാരക പുസ്തക കവര് അവാര്ഡ് ആട് ജീവിതം എന്ന പുസ്തകത്തിന്റെ പുറംചട്ട വരച്ച ഷെറീഫിന് മംഗളം ദിനപത്രത്തിന്റെ മാനേജിങ് എഡിറ്റര് സാബു വര്ഗ്ഗീസ് സമ്മാനിച്ചു. മലയാള മനോരമ എഡിറ്റോറിയല് ഡയറക്ടര് തോമസ് ജേക്കബ്ബ്, കെ.മാധവന്നായര്, ജോയ് തിരുമൂലപുരം, സുധീര്നാഥ്, പ്രസന്നന് ആനിക്കാട്, ശങ്കരന്കുട്ടിയുടെ മകന് ഹരിശങ്കര് എന്നിവര് ചടങ്ങില് സംസാരിച്ചു. പ്രശസ്ത സിനിമാ സംവിധായകനായ ശശി പരവൂര്, മുതിര്ന്ന പത്രപ്രവര്ത്തകനായ എന്.പി. ചേക്കുട്ടി. കാര്ട്ടൂണിസ്റ്റ് സുധീര്നാഥ് എന്നിവരാണ് അവാര്ഡിനര്ഹമായ രചന തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തത്.
