Cartoonist K.S. Pillai was commemorated
The renowned Malayalam cartoonist K.S. Pillai was commemorated on 2008 April 30 at Darshana Auditorium in Kottayam town, the place associated with his field of work. At the meeting presided over by Kottayam MLA V.N. Vasavan, Kerala Press Academy Chairman Thomas Jacob inaugurated the function. Mangalam Managing Editor Sabu Varghese and K.S.S. School of Arts Principal Shankar delivered commemorative speeches, while cartoonists Sukumar, Toms, Raju Nair, Prasannan Anikkad, Jithesh, and Sudheerrnath paid tribute to their mentor. An exhibition of K.S. Pillai’s original cartoons was also organized.
പ്രശസ്ത മലയാള കാര്ട്ടൂണിസ്റ്റ് കെ.എസ്. പിള്ളയെ അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ പ്രവര്ത്തനമേഖലയായ കോട്ടയം പട്ടണത്തിലെ ദര്ശനാ ആഡിറ്റോറിയത്തില് വച്ച് 2008 ഏപ്രില് 30ന് അനുസ്മരിച്ചു. കോട്ടയം എം.എല്.എ. വി.എന്. വാസവന് അദ്ധ്യകഷനായ യോഗത്തില് കേരളാ പ്രസ്സ് അക്കാദമി ചെയര്മാന് തോമസ് ജേക്കബ് ചടങ്ങ് ഉത്ഘാടനം ചെയ്തു. മംഗളം മാനേജിങ്ങ് എഡിറ്റര്, സാബു വര്ഗ്ഗീസ് കെ.എസ്സ്. എസ്സ്. സ്കൂള് ഓഫ് ആര്ട്സ് പ്രിന്സിപ്പല് ശങ്കര് എന്നിവര് ആനുസ്മരണവും കാര്ട്ടൂണിസ്റ്റുകളായ സുകുമാര്, ടോംസ്, രാജു നായര്, പ്രസന്നന് ആനിക്കാട്, ജിതേഷ്, സുധീര്നാഥ് എന്നിവര് ഗുരുസ്മരണയും നടത്തി. കെ.എസ്. പിള്ളയുടെ ഒറിജിനല് കാര്ട്ടൂണുകളുടെ പ്രദര്ശനവും സംഘടിപ്പിച്ചിരുന്നു.
