Kerala Cartoon Academy conferred honorary membership on George Kumbanad; Agriculture Minister P. Prasad presented it. The Kerala Cartoon Academy conferred its honorary membership on George Kumbanad, who created the character Uppayi Mappila through his drawings. In a simple ceremony held at his residence in Kumbanad, Minister P. Prasad handed over the honorary membership plaque. The event was organized with the cooperation of the Pathanamthitta Press Club. Film director Blessy, a member of George’s family, Cartoon Academy Chairman K. Unnikrishnan, Kerala Media Academy Secretary N. P. Santhosh, Cartoon Academy Executive Committee members Baiju Paulose and Sajeev Sooranad, cartoonists Sudheer Nath and Shaji Mathew, Press Club President Sajith Parameswaran, Secretary A. COVID Cartoon Competition Prize Distribution The prize distribution for the winners of the cartoon competition organized jointly by the Kerala Media Academy and the Kerala Cartoon Academy for students to promote awareness about COVID prevention was conducted by Education Minister V. The digital artwork workshop “Chumarillaa Chithram” (Picture Without Walls), introducing contemporary methods of drawing and painting, was held in Ernakulam on May 8, 2022. Visual art has now reached innovative technologies that allow drawing without canvas or paper. The program was a demonstration lecture explaining this new approach. It was organized in association with the state art exhibition of the Kerala Lalithakala Akademi, in collaboration with the Kerala Cartoon Academy. The Kerala Cartoon Academy and KSEB jointly organized a two-day cartoon camp in Thiruvananthapuram on March 23 and 24, 2022. Around thirty academy members participated. As part of the program, a humorous interaction session was held. Former Electricity Minister M. M. Mani and Electricity Minister K. Krishnankutty took part. B. Ashok, Chairman and Managing Director of the Electricity Board, and K.
